Web
Application Development
E811
delivered one of the first true web application systems
for government in 1996: the Internet Routed Information
System. What was then a pioneering concept has since become
an industry standard. Web-enabled applications are superior
to client-server or dumb terminal applications in almost
every respect. Today, E811 uses the best development and
distribution frameworks to leverage the advantages offered
by corporate intranets, VPNs, and the Internet.
Using true three-tier and CVM architecture,
E811 rapidly develops robust and extensible browser-based
application systems. E811 utilizes the following technologies,
among others:
Java Server Pages (JSP): JSP is E811's
preferred platform-independent web application interface.
Utilizing the open Jakarta Struts framework delivers truly
reusable components that can be used for voice or GIS interfaces
as well.
Maps and Geographic Information Systems
(GIS): E811 is an ESRI partner and uses Arc-IMS servers
to deliver high-quality and interoperable map interfaces
to spatial data. E811 also participates in open-source GIS
development, and is a source contributor to Grass GIS.
E811 web applications are always developed after a detailed
assessment of the client's business needs.
